Neighbors Being Human
Neighbors Being Human is the community mission of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Yaphank, NY. Our goal is to provide support to those facing food insecurity and homelessness and to ultimately help lift people out of poverty. Please read their stories here.
We are funded both by a grant from the Episcopal Ministries of Long Island and support from private citizens like you.
We reach the community in two ways:
Food Pantry and Clothing/Household Items Pantry:
Located on the grounds of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church (see map and operating hours below).
These mini-pantries are regularly stocked with food items and basic necessities which are available 24 hours a day.
- Opening hours on Tuesday and Thursday changed for the winter: We close at 8pm.

Here is who we help:
Most of our visitors come from within the Longwood and William Floyd School Districts while others come from all over Suffolk County, NY. We are celebrating our three-year anniversary in March 2023. In the last 12 months we had more than 1450 visits to our pantry, an increase of over 37% year over year, and behind each visit is an average family of 4 people.
